I love this week's 5MSM. The value proposition should be a key driver of the strategic plan, so your two examples are perfect for honing this aspect of our strategic mindset. My four-word summary of Musk's strategy: "Build. Expand market. Support." My four-word summary of this week's 5MSM: "Start mindset with KISS!"
Another great read Andrew. Please know that I file my faves and send them on to others in my network when I think there'll be something of particular interest to them along with a note suggesting they sign up - it's my 5 minute Friday treat! Thankyou
Speaking of less waffle - "We are working on a low cost EV, that will be made in very high volume, we are quite far advanced in that work, I review the production line plans for that every week, and the revolution in manufacturing that will be represented by that car will blow peoples mind, and be built on the Texas production line" https://youtu.be/-tG9R29OSYw?si=KEaXrJuXqHnxH3f3&t=210 - the whole interview with Sandy Munro about what they did on the Cybertruck from a first principles perspective is excellent.
From a fellow car nerd. Like the Corvette, the Suburban also had its shorter-lived copies. International had a thing called a Carryall. Chrysler-Jeep had a Wagoneer. Ford had the Bronco. None survived as long.
Love the simplicity of the Kodak final statement. 5MSM is always informative, and prompts action. Im off to chatgpt to sample reducing a vision statement of one of the organisations I am part of.

Thanks for your insights this year Andrew
Loved this Andrew - the importance of simplicity. I written down three things to create / review and simplify...
1. Our value proposition.
2. Our strategy over time
3. Clarify the essence of what we do.
Great insights Andrew - many thanks.
Hope to see you again one day soon too!
Best, Andrew
Awesome one this week Andrew.
Elon's playbook is straight out of Henry Ford's on how he proved the capability of petrol ICE engines all those years ago.
Thanks Andrew, your insights are always thought provoking and challenge the things I do. Thank you for a years worth of thoughts and ideas.

Always thought provoking and a breath of fresh air!
Always enjoy your 5MSM Andrew.
There’s always a practical application.
Love that you shared your own reflection on writing it!
Know your target market.
I'm into cars.
GM built the two seat Corvette in '53..
Ford copied the concept in '55 with the two seat Thunderbird and added a V8 and thrashed Corvette on sales.
Corvette got a V8 and went head to head for the sportscar market.
Thunderbird changed to 2+2 seat offering.
Corvette is still going 70 years later as a two seat sport car and Ford don't have one.

As ever, crisp and interesting.
